The CLIO Awards will be celebrating its monumental 50th Anniversary in Las Vegas in May 2009. This renewed vision of the 2009 CLIO’s will highlight the most cutting-edge and powerful accomplishments in the industry with five new and distinct award shows.
“We are excited to celebrate the 50-year milestone of the prestigious CLIO Awards Festival in Las Vegas, a city internationally renowned for its bright lights and great entertainment – a truly appropriate venue to showcase all talent and creativity within the industry,” said Wayne Youkhana, director of the CLIO Awards. “This anniversary represents the CLIO’s continued dedication to honoring the best and most innovative leaders in the industry, while also recognizing the ever-changing advertising and design environment. What better way to honor the diversity of the creative community than to spotlight the mediums with distinct events during this year’s CLIO Festival.”

The five distinct award shows are:
  • Moving Image Awards – recognizing Television/Cinema/Digital & Television/Cinema/Digital Technique mediums.
  • Emerging Media Awards – recognizing Content & Contact, Innovative Media, Interactive, and Integrated mediums.

  • Design Awards – recognizing Design mediums.
  • Lifetime Achievement Awards – recognizing the outstanding and ongoing contribution of an individual who leads the industry forward.
The CLIO Awards appoint the most strategic, innovative and creative individuals in the advertising, design and interactive industry to seven executive juries, thus providing a high-level judging competition for each of the five new distinct shows. The executive juries are comprised of individuals from around the world, who demonstrate a profound understanding of the rapidly-evolving dynamics of each medium within their respective fields. The 2009 CLIO Executive Jury panel will be selected and announced later this month.

The entry submission deadline is January 23, 2009 for all work appearing between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2008.
